I painted this in 1975, when I was only 21, inspired by a drawing in a magazine. To me it represents the transcendence of spiritual awareness - that in the depths of our sorrow lies the awareness of the pure joy and ecstasy of Eternal Love. I have seen many versions of this picture; this is mine.

I was recently contacted by the son of the painter of the original drawing that inspired me. The painter was Alex Sander vanVoorst, from Holland and was painted in 1970. Thank you so much for this information.
